Next, we delve into a “custard crawl” with stops at three historic custard stands.     Join us as we embark on this highly unique "Urban Safari" designed to examine some of the historical wonders and architectural gems scattered across the city. The tour route will showcase all the Chicago River and downtown "Loop" has to offer. On this highly unique tour our guests will hear captivating stories about the city’s rich history, view and learn about some of Chicago’s most iconic architecture and artwork, stroll the "Loop" while listening to heartrending stories of some of the city’s worse disasters and experience the newly expanded Chicago River Walk that opened in 2017. Following the tour, we will head over to Greektown for the 29th annual Taste of Greektown. Hellenic pride will take center stage with this acclaimed culinary fest on Halsted Street. Taste of Greektown is a romantic weekend celebration for lovers of Mediterranean culture. Blending Old World traditions with a 21st century freshness, the tantalizing food and spirits from neighborhood eateries will again be the main attraction. Please note this is a walking tour.

All levels of shooters are welcome from total beginners to experienced archers. BowDoc Archery will supply all of the equipment necessary for class.

    Chess Wizards, one of the largest chess academies in the nation, will be offering an exciting summer chess camp! Each child is challenged by fun lessons and games from our energetic and experienced staff. Each lesson is accompanied by a set of chess puzzles tailored to reinforce our students’ progress. In addition to playing chess, these camps feature a number of activities such as treasure hunts, capture-the-flag and chess variation games to make our camp memorable and fun. At the end of camp, all of our students will have the chance to participate in a mini-chess tournament. Each student will receive a trophy, a puzzle workbook and their own Chess Wizards T-shirt!

    Come join us at Nova Quarter Horse for fun-filled days of learning horsemanship skills. Students will have hands-on experience in grooming, bridling and saddling horses. Every day will also include a riding lesson. Wednesday is BBQ and Wacky Water Day. On the last day of camp, a student horse show will be held to demonstrate their skills to families and friends.     15530 - Tennis Camps

    Children will be introduced to the sport by various drills that will work on hand-eye coordination. They will be instructed on the proper grips, various stroke techniques (forehand, backhand, overhead, volley and serve) along with the areas of the court and scoring methods. Middle school participants will work at sharpening their skills and learn to use different strokes in matches. All participants must bring their own tennis racquet and are encouraged to bring a water bottle. Tennis balls will be supplied for class.

    16140 - IPRA Teen Camp

    We may not have a teen camp, but why not create a team and join the competition. We will be competing against other teen teams from across the state of Illinois. There will be six different mini competitions that we will compete in. At the end of the day the team with the most points wins! So get off the couch and step outside and enjoy the friendly games. Please bring a lunch, water and sunscreen, wear socks and gym shoes and dress for the weather as this is an outside event. On our way home we will stop for an ice cream treat!

    If you are selling any type of FOOD, you must furnish a Certificate of Insurance to the Park District office at TIME OF REGISTRATION. The insurance certificate requirements are as follows:
    - The insurance company shall have a minimum Best Rating of A-1
    - The minimum limit of liability shall be $1,000,000.00.
    - The policy coverage shall be Comprehensive and on an Occurrence form.
    - NEW LENOX COMMUNITY PARK DISTRICT, 701 W. Haven Ave., New Lenox IL 60451 AND
    MENARDS INC., 601 E. Lincoln Highway, New Lenox IL 60451 shall be named as Additional Insured.

    17731 - Wow, I Can Oil Paint!

    Grab some friends and have a blast while learning how to paint. The instructor will help you create your own landscape masterpiece. This class will cover basic Alexander/Ross wet-on-wet oil painting techniques. For advanced painters, we will cover advanced Alexander techniques. At the conclusion of this course, you will demonstrate the ability to paint, generate ideas to be a creative artist, prepare and use visual aids to discover that oil painting can be fun.     Children love this STEM based engineering camp! We will build vehicles, animals, carnival rides and lots more fun models with LEGO® bricks, technic parts, motors and battery packs. Campers will learn to read model plans, build a variety of motorized and non-motorized models. Fun, yet educational, this camp will reinforce counting; number recognition, fine motor skills and your LEGO® fan will LOVE building models that really work! Each child takes home a custom LEGO® mini-figure at the end of camp. Please bring your own NUT FREE snack & water each day.
